How Dental Implants Can Help Reclaim Your Smile
Dental implants are one of the easiest and most comfortable ways to replace your missing teeth, whilst reinvigorating your confident, stunning smile. As leaders in the development of dental implant technology, Christies Beach Dental, an accredited dental practice in South Australia, has developed a proven 3D guided surgery process to guarantee natural and functional results.
What is the Dental Implant Process?
The dental implant process starts by taking 3D x-rays of a patient’s jaw. We use a dental cone beam CT to deliver comprehensive images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerves, and bone.
After we develop an oral map of a patient’s jaw, we insert a titanium implant into the jaw bone. This procedure can be done while under IV sedation. After a healing period of approximately 3 months, we insert a custom-made crown or a full set of teeth fabricated from zirconia onto the implant/s.
The Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants provide a permanent solution to tooth loss with considerable and ongoing health benefits. Implants look and function very similarly to natural teeth. They provide peace of mind and security to those who struggle with tooth loss and loss of eating function. While dental implants do cost more than traditional dentures and denture bridges, they offer true permanence and peace of mind. Patients do not have to worry about constant adjustments and replacements.
Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
In order to be a candidate for dental implants, patients must have sufficient oral health. Certain conditions like gum disease or bone loss can prevent the implant from successfully integrating into the bone. Additionally, conditions that limit a patient’s ability to heal will reduce the success rate. Adequate bone levels are also necessary to support dental implants. This is why Dr. Kafagy uses 3D guided surgery technology to map a patient’s oral anatomy and design dental implants that are a perfect fit.
The design process begins on a 3D planning software where we design a guide and plan for precision implant placement. Then, a special milling machine fabricates a guiding template to assist with accurate and safe implant placement. This technology eliminates many of the classic complications of implant dentistry. The Technology
Dr Kafagy is currently adopting the new technology of 3D guided surgery, where the full implant placement is designed on the computer software A special milling machine then fabricates a guiding template through which, a very precise and accurate placement could be achieved. This technique eliminates many of the classic complications of implant dentistry.
For more information and individual assessment you need to have a consultation of about 45 minutes that would help you to compare implants to other restorative options.
